Our Journey

About CabinetCraft Japan

A specialist kitchen renovation studio rooted in Shibuya since 2008, combining Japanese craftsmanship with contemporary design principles.

Our Roots

Where It All Began

In 2008, master cabinetmaker Hiroshi Inoue opened a single-room workshop in Jingumae, Shibuya. Frustrated by the gap between factory kitchens and true craftsmanship, he set out to create kitchens that would outlast the buildings they occupied.

Hiroshi had trained under traditional Japanese carpentry apprenticeships before studying modern European kitchen design in Munich. That blend of disciplines — Japanese precision joinery combined with Scandinavian functional design philosophy — became the DNA of CabinetCraft Japan.

What started as a one-person studio has grown into a 22-person team of designers, craftspeople, project managers, and installation specialists, all united by the same principle: every kitchen is a once-in-a-generation investment.

How We Work

Design Through Listening

We believe a great kitchen emerges from radical listening. Before a single line is drawn, we spend time in your home — understanding how you prep meals, entertain guests, store groceries, and move through the space daily.

That insight drives every design decision. Aesthetics follow function. We design storage systems, workflow routes, and cabinet proportions around real human behaviour first, then apply the material palette and finish detailing that gives the kitchen its character.

The result is a space that looks beautiful because it works beautifully — not in spite of function, but because of it.

Our Principles

What We Stand For

Radical Listening

We begin every project by understanding your space, habits, and dreams — not imposing a template design onto your life.

Precision Craft

Every joint, hinge, and surface is executed to millimetre tolerance. We measure twice, cut once, and take responsibility for everything we ship.

Longterm Thinking

We design kitchens to last 20+ years, not 5. We choose materials for durability, not just trend, and back our work with a 10-year warranty.

Sustainable Practice

FSC-certified timber, water-based finishes, and local sourcing. We design with environmental responsibility as standard, not exception.
